On September 25, 2025, the Infrastructure and Environment Committee (IEC) directed Transportation Services to report back at its October 29, 2025 meeting with a status update on progress toward studying redesign options for the Allen & Eglinton intersection (Item 2025.IE25.6).
At the October meeting, Transportation Services presented its update report, which included:
· An evaluation of the traffic measures implemented since the City assumed control of the intersection
· An overview of neighbourhood infiltration mitigation strategies under consideration
· A progress update on the City’s intersection redesign study
The report also recommended delaying the next update from Q12026 to Q2 2026, extending the timeline yet again.

CUVCG Deputation - At the same meeting, the Cedarvale & Upper Village Community Group (CUVCG) delivered a formal deputation regarding the City’s report and the ongoing conditions at the Allen & Eglinton intersection.
During our remarks, we:
· identified inconsistencies between the City’s report and information through our Freedom of Information request.
· highlighted the continued dysfunction and safety concerns caused by the reinstated intersection.
· called for an expedited and accountable approach to redesign and reconstruction without further delay.
Councillor Josh Matlow also addressed the Committee, emphasizing the intersection’s failed design, and the need for a comprehensive and accelerated resolution.
